Sea Kayak - Colvos Passage
We’ll launch from Olalla Bay, boat ramp and paddle down the west shoreline of Colvas Passage until reaching Sunrise Park. For a snack and head over to the county park adjacent it’s over on Vashon Island, and then handrailing up the coast line of the island until we’re across from Olalla again and then we can have dinner on the patio at Ollala Grocery Bay store or partake in the Olalla Bar

If you have a sail and you know how to use it, you’re welcome to bring it on your Kayak. Often times this passage has nice wind.
Meet at Olalla Bay Boat ramp at 11:30am for shuttle to parking area up hill on banner from Olalla boat ramp because this this destination is very popular with locals the parking can be a challenge launch by 1:30pm
there’s additional parking along side the road if the parking lot is full this is a fairly popular place locally so I presume by the time we get back in the afternoon it’s gonna be crowded but it must be good. Otherwise it wouldn’t be like that.
There’s a porta potty here.
Required Equipment
These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips. All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.
- Floatation in both ends of the kayak
- U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
- Paddle
- Spray skirt
- Bilge pump with floatation
- Self-rescue paddle float
- Waterproof whistle
- Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
