Naturalist Trip - Scatter Creek Wildlife Area
Join us at one of the Puget Sound's unique prairie ecosystems as we search for and identify native prairie wildflowers. This is also a great spot for bird watching, so bring your binoculars to spot Western Meadowlarks, Acorn Woodpeckers or other species recently identified at Scatter Creek.

The leaders will bring plant guides and lists to help identify the wildflowers, plants and birds on the prairie. We will focus our plant identification on ten key species found at the Scatter Creek prairie.
Feel free to bring any plant or flower guides or birding resources that you have including a hand lens, a magnifying glass and binoculars.
Bring appropriate clothing for warmth and rain. Since we will be stopping often and moving slowly, you may require more clothing to stay warm. Should the weather be clear and warm, bring sun protection.
Meeting place and time will be sent to participants a few days before the activity. We will begin in the morning and spend 3 to 4 hours exploring the prairie. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for parking.
