Mount Baker National Park has many trails that lead to premier alpine habitat with unique wildflower gardens and wildlife. Destinations are quite dependent upon snow level. Exact itinerary is still being developed, so please check for updates before registering for this trip.
Special emphasis on this trip will be lichens, ferns and pollinators in addition to alpine ecology. We’ll talk a little about the geology but it’s complicated and difficult to identify remains of the old caldera.
We will meet at 9:00 at the Bagley Lakes Trailhead (restrooms available) to carpool to Artist Point, which has very limited parking. This TH is in walking distance from the Mountaineers Lodge, for those staying there.
