Day Hike - Zach's Lookout

This is a forest service road, not much trail. Be okay with walking mainly on gravel or dirt road. We will stick together, stop when need be, enjoy the morning and any animals or plants we come across, and hope to see a view at the top. My goal for everyone is wonderful conversations, connections, exercise, and joy. We will stop for a snack at Dickerson Falls on the way back from the lookout area. 

This is my first lead hike. My hope is that if you sign up for this hike you will be open to sharing constructive feedback to help me become a better leader and offer more hikes in the Kitsap area. 

ABOUT THE TREE FARM

The Ueland Tree Farm is a 2,500-acre, family-owned, sustainable managed forest with primarily forest roads  but few trails. The area is open to the public and allows hiking, biking, running, and dogs.  Hunting is permitted, but not target shooting. Motorized vehicles, including ATV's are not allowed. No permits are required for parking at the Lebers Lane NW Trailhead. Please be respectful of this and and its owners so they will allow the public to roam on their land for year to come.

GETTING THERE

DRIVING

From its intersection with SR-3 in Bremerton, drive Kitsap Way west 1.5 miles and turn left onto Northlake Way. In 0.5 mile and turn left onto Lebers Lane NW and continue 0.2 mile to the trailhead (300 ft).

From SR-3 in Silverdale, drive south, take the Chico Way  exit, and turn right onto Chico Way. Drive 0.6 mile and turn right onto Northlake Way. In 0.5 mile and turn left onto Lebers Lane NW and continue 0.2 mile to the trailhead (300 ft).

TRANSIT

Kitsap Transit Route #12 (Silverdale West) stops at Northlake Way near Lebers Lane NW.

Meeting Time sent via. email. Probably will meet around 8:30am at the parking area trailhead at Ueland Tree Farm. Confirmation sent to participants a few days prior.  There is no toilet facilities at the trailhead or on trail.
