We will hike at 1.75 moving average but will keep moving. There will not be a formal lunch break. There will be three roughly 5-minute breaks along the route.  I ask the group to stay together. Poles are advised and shoes with good traction for the wet fallen leaves.  There is one potentially challenging step up that with a bit of maneuvering could be handled with two steps (poles helpful).

On relatively easier hike like this, participants' abilities may vary. If you are a strong hiker and want a greater challenge, may I suggest bringing 3 or 4 extra liters of water?  If you are a newer hiker: 1.75 moving pace is roughly a 34-minute mile, averaged out between faster flats and slower ascents. It is important that participants look at the stated walk description, distance, pace, elevation gain and consider your current fitness level in determining if this walk is a good fit for you. If you have any questions, please contact the trip leader in advance.  A leader may look at your profile and recent activities to ensure that they think you are ready for their walk. They may email or call you to ask you about your hiking history and conditioning activities.

NOAA weather forecast along our route https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-121.98675714649734&lat=47.5184174090563  We will hike if its raining. May cancel if the forecast calls for very strong winds, hard rain, lightning, or snow or ice.

Leader will not be able to answer questions until Nov 7th.

Meeting place and time: 9:30am ready to hike, (please arrive earlier to get ready). We’ll meet in the parking lot by my car. I have a white Subaru Crosstrek and will pop the trunk. My car will be on the South Side of the parking lot.  Google maps calls our lot ‘High Point Trailhead’. Here is the google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/QdwirwHW96bwxxe47

Directions: From I-90 take exit 20 and then turn right onto the frontage road paralleling the interstate. In just under 0.5 mile the road ends at a gate. The gate opens daily. Pass the gate and continue another 0.4 mile to the large lot.

Discover Pass required, there are public facilities at the trailhead.
