  • Easy
  • Mileage: 7.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 625 ft
  • Pace: 2 mph

We'll meet at 9:00 AM.  Please note there are 2 trailheads located close together, uphill to the right and straight ahead by the bridge & porto.   Depending on where you park, please meet up on the right.    This hike is inside the National Park, so a pass is required.

There are places than can be slippery so if you're getting started or feel more comfortable, feel free to bring trekking poles.    Depending on conditions and people, we will have the option to go to Beaver Flats (less than a mile roundtrip, minimum gain); and after the hike,  we might have the option of tacking on the Shady Lane extension (1.6 mi roundtrip).

Should there be any road access or parking capacity issues, Big Creek Loop (5 1/2 mi, 850') will be our alternative.   This hike is in National Forest and a pass is required for parking inside the campground.    If you've not been there, you will see the turn on the way in...
