Meet at 10 AM at the Wapiti Outdoors parking lot in Greenwater. There are two portapotties there and breakfast food is available in the snack bar accessed from the back deck.
We will caravan from Wapiti Outdoors to the trailhead parking area by turning right onto SR 410, right again onto FR 73 and then it is a short drive to the trailhead parking area, which is just beyond the bridge over the White River. The last part of the road, from the bridge to the parking area, has some potholes, so slowing down there is important. The trailhead restroom was locked during the summer of 2020. Hopefully it will be open at the time of this hike. There are no restroom facilities elsewhere on the hike, but there are bushes near the lunch spot creating privacy for bathroom breaks during the lunch stop.
The three mile hike to the lunch spot on a sandbar of the White River, takes us by towering Skookum Falls, at the two mile point. We will pause at a viewpoint of the falls for pictures. The hike out after lunch will be on the same route we hiked in.
