This is a glorious wildflower hike of about 11.5 miles and 2100 feet of rolling gain and loss with an extravaganza of lupine, balsam arrowroot and more, plus broad views of rolling hills and distant snowy Cascade mountains! Gaia route can be found at this link (subject to change if we have to park at a different location). This is a spring conditioner so we'll keep a moderate 2.5 mph pace and keep moving briskly through the day with water breaks and a 20 minute lunch stop. You'll need to bring all the water you need for the day, presuming highs in the 70s. This hike may be postponed if a rainy day is forecast.
Leader Permission is required so I ask that you please include in your permission request details of recent hikes you've done with this distance, gain and pace. More details
We need to work together to agree on carpools such that we can arrive in 2 cars (limited parking!) by 8:30AM at Day Drive trailhead https://maps.app.goo.gl/KxsaMNx2gkSdzqG28, about 2 hours 30 mins from downtown Issaquah. The hike should take us about 5 hours with breaks, allowing us to get back before the worst of the city traffic.
