Day Hike - Rampart Lakes

This is a great hike for views and flowers. We are going a little  early for peak flowers, early bloom should still be good. I am scheduling this soon after snowmelt, hoping to avoid the crowds that closer to town trails will have if it is a sunny Saturday. According to trip reports, crews have cleared the trail as far as Rachel Lake. I don't know about the last half mile to Rampart Lakes, be prepared for poor conditions. This stretch will be slippery if wet. Thus I may change the location in a forecast of rain. But then, I will not be worried about crowds closer to the pass.
