This trip pairs an easier walk near the river with a tougher, steep boot-path up a ridge. Please make sure this combination works for you. I am requiring Microspikes and trekking poles. Here is the WTA write-up for each:

This trip is Leader Permission Only: please use the tab on the right side bar (if on a computer) or the bottom (if on your phone) to contact the leader. Answer all the questions in your response.
1) I am in condition to do this hike--9.5 miles, 2700' gain. Yes or No. Please list a hike with similar stats that you have done within the last 6 months that demonstrate this conditioning.
2) The boot-path to Stegosaurus Butte is steep in places and has a few obstacles in the path. You may need to use your hands to navigate some sections. I read the WTA write-up listed above and am confident I can do this. Yes or No.
3) While no new snow is predicted currently for our trip, there may be some old snow on the Butte trail. I will bring Microspikes and trekking poles incase they are needed for safe tractions. Yes or No.
This should be a fun and varied trip. Let hope for great views and a fun time visiting new trails and places. Rob
9 AM at the Middle Fork Trailhead--the one with the big bridge. An American the Beautiful or NW Forest Pass is required.
Getting There
Drive east on I-90 from Seattle to exit 34 or Edgewick Road. Turn left over the overpass onto 468th Avenue past the truck stop and gas station area to the junction with the Middle Fork Road (FR 56). The sign is on the left in trees and easy to miss. Turn right, pass a school and continue up the Middle Fork Road for 11.8 miles to the large Middle Fork trailhead parking area on the right. There is one fork -- you can take either road, they link up a bit further down. Privy available and NW Forest Pass is required.
