Day Hike - Ozette Triangle

The three sides of the Ozette Triangle consist of a three mile hike from Ozette to Cape Alava on a mostly level trail that is about half boardwalk and half gravel, then a three mile hike on the beach which alternates small rocks and sand, and finally a three mile hike from Sand Point back to Ozette that is similar to the first leg.  There is a nice restroom building at the Ozette trailhead, with flush toilets and sinks.   There are two outhouses at Cape Alava and two others at Sand Point.  At Cape Alava we will pass the site of an ancient Indian village, from which artifacts are displayed in the Makah Museum in Neah Bay.  There is a smaller museum display at Cape Alava that we can see during this hike.  There are 50 Indian petroglyphs at Wedding Rocks that we can look for during our lunch break near low tide.

Meet at 8 AM at the Ozette trailhead, reached by heading west from Port Angeles on US 101, right onto SR 112, continuing right on SR 112 after the stop sign, through the town of Clallam Bay and left onto the Hoko-Ozette Road.  The Ozette trailhead parking lot is at the end of the road.  A National Park Pass must be displayed by every car parked there.
