Day Hike - McLane Creek Nature Trail

Beavers and Newts Hike at McLane Nature Trail. This hike is great for kids of all ages and their accompanying grown ups. Newts come out in March and the beaver dams are still visible before the spring foliage pops up. Come enjoy this lovely accessible hike and learn about the wildlife there. Hold a newt if you are brave enough!

Meet at McLane Nature Trail covered area at 1:00pm on Sunday, March 17.

We will be searching for newts and will try to net a few for a close up view.

We will also stop at multiple sites to look for evidence of beavers.  Since beavers are nocturnal, they are seldom seen.

We will also take a look at whatever birds are there---often wood ducks, red headed woodpeckers, geese, and more!

This is an all ages hike and appropriate for strollers if needed.
