We'll start with a moss and lichen filled loop through the forest, walk past beaver habitat and view the chum salmon, followed by a stop at the pond for a snack provided by the leader. We will look for frogs, newts, bugs, and water birds. Bring your binoculars or use ours to see all the wildlife close up.

Please dress for the weather.

This hike is for kids accompanied by an adult. Single adults admitted only if they do not displace any families.

 All participants must be registered.

This activity is appropriate for kids 3 and over or infants in packs.

DISCOVER PASS REQUIRED! Meet at the McLane Creek Nature Trail in Capitol State Forest near Olympia at 10 a.m. We will gather under the shelter by the main lower parking lot at the east end of the preserve (map will be provided in Hello Hiker email). Parking can be a challenge, especially in the lower lot that is by the trailhead. Don't be surprised if you need to park in the upper lot and walk down, so leave time for parking.
