This trail starts high and stays high. We'll travel south on the PCT as it makes its way through gentle ups and downs to Grasshopper Pass, visiting Tatie Peak along the way. We will turn around at 5.1 miles from the trailhead, just before the PCT descends to Glacier Pass. Folks who want to follow a boot path east along the ridge for .4 miles to point 7,125 can do so. Weather conditions may change the scope of the hike, and substantial rain will cancel it.
We will travel at a moderate pace, allowing time for taking photographs and immersing in the fleeting fall beauty. Expect to be on the trail for 6 hours.
If there is interest following the hike, we could drive to the nearby Slate Peak lookout trail, which is .7 miles RT and 250' of elevation gain for another 360 degree view of the North Cascades and the Pasayten.
Meet in Mazama at the trailhead parking lot behind the Mazama Public House at 8:00 am to consolidate cars.

The Hart's Pass Road is rocky and has a section with a steep drop off. It would be best for us to travel in a couple of higher clearance vehicles.
Carpool options will be discussed with participants. I will be staying in the area.
Our hike starts at the Brown Bear PCT trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NsgdQ77YmcF4xVFR7
