Day Hike - Granite Lakes
Moderate hike in the Middle Fork Snoq valley on an old road-turned trail. If snow / standing water is not an issue, we can get to the lakes; otherwise may cut it a bit short.

Please note this is a "social pace" which means we will adjust our pace to the group and go slowly enough to have some conversation and multiple short breaks. I don't think the elevation gain is as much as this web listing says; I think it is more like 2500 ft but we'll see. Expect multiple small "creeks" across the trail and probably some snow higher up. Poles/spikes/gaiters may be handy. The lake basin can be more or less "flooded" depending on the rain, so we will play that by ear.
Meet at the trailhead parking lot at 0900 and ready to go by 0915. This is the large, paved parking lot several miles past Mailbox peak; not the small one for the "granite connector" trail. There is a vault toilet there. Discover pass required. I will try to remember to wear an orange hat with Mtrs logo on it.
