Day Hike - Excelsior Peak

Day hike to a peak with gorgeous views of the North Cascades and high meadows.

Meet at 8:30AM at the Glacier Public Service Center in  the town of Glacier on Rte 542. Allot 8 1/2 - 9 hours for this hike. Approximate drive time to trailhead is 2 1/2 hours from Seattle. Note: Leaders  will be camping at the Douglas Fir campground. There are two other Mountaineer day hikes that might be of interest on 8/30 and 9/1 so you may want to consider staying in this area overnight.

This is a strenuous hike that requires good condition but will be at a moderate pace. Totals will be about 11 miles and nearly 4000' elevation gain. 

Northwest Forest Pass is required.
