10:00 AM at Ash Way Park & Ride
Hello, It’s spring time and I’m thinking about getting my hiking boots dirty again. Therefore, I’m leading an easy hike at Deception Pass State Park. This park has a beautiful and varied landscape: tall, old-growth trees on Goose Rock; pebble beaches at Bowman Bay and North Beach; and amazing views of the San Juan Islands from Lighthouse Point. More about the park at: Keep in mind, that although this is an easy hike, we are still going for many miles and will hike in all but the most treacherous weather. However, there are shortcuts back to the car for those who need to leave early. After the hike, we will stop in La Conner or Mount Vernon to re-hydrate ourselves. I posted this hike on the Mountaineers website, so you can sign up there if you like or RSVP me at this email address. However, if you like to be spontaneous and didn’t send me an email, come anyway. Also, due to the location of this hike, please don’t fill your pack with any unneeded ten essentials—save the space for a whoopee cushion, it is April Fool’s day after all.
