10:30am, at my house near Murden Cove (address to be given later), Bainbridge Island. Contact me for info on how to get there from the BI ferry if you are not taking a car.

This is a modification of the hike template for Bainbridge Island. Specifically, we will be hiking from the east coast of Bainbridge (Murden Cove) through the Grand Forest, Hilltop connector, Sea to Sky trail, Battlepoint Park, Fairy Dell trail to the west coast of the island. We will return to Battlepoint Park for lunch (or possibly eat on the beach if there is enough of it), then return to our starting point.

We start by walking a few hundred yards on Manitou Beach Drive and crossing highway 305. At that point there is about 1/2 mile of backroad, then we reach the trail system that brings us across the rest of the island to Battlepoint park. From there it is a short hike down to the water on the Fairy Dell trail.

There are a couple of short, fairly steep sections, but mostly the trail will be flat. I expect the hiking time to be about 4 hours round trip, plus time for lunch. Don't forget this is January, and likely to be cold and at least somewhat damp and muddy, so be prepared.

Dogs are allowed on the trails (leashed), feel free to bring yours.
