Beginner Snowshoe - Reflection & Louise Lakes

Meet at 8:30 at Longmire parking lot, near the museum and rest room building.  Put tire chains on if required.  If gate does not open at 9:00, we will consider a Plan B in Longmire area.  More details to follow in emails to participants.

Leader's permission is required to register.  This is a "Beginners" snowshoe.   That means there are no badge or course prerequisites.  However, we will be doing a few miles on terrain which has significant climb and descent, and at altitudes largely  above 5,000 feet.  The route is not especially steep, but some snowshoe skills and endurance are required.  It is not a suitable trip for those with no experience on snowshoes.  Basic Snowshoe course students needing a trip are encouraged to register.  Please email me for permission to register at adktripper@earthlink.net, and  with any questions about the trip, especially about gear or whether this is the right trip for you.  Pace will be easy to moderate, with stops for photography as well as regular rest breaks and lunch.   I plan to go as far as Reflection Lakes.  Beyond that depends on time, weather, trail conditions and group consensus.  Turn-around time dictated by Longmire Gate.  We will be off trail by 3:30 and back at Longmire before 4 p.m.
