Basic Snowshoe - Reflection Lakes

Classic Mt. Rainier snowshoe trip. Now open to all to register.

  • Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 900 ft

8:15 AM at the Longmire parking area, towards the backcountry ranger office. Look for my dark blue CR-V hybrid. We will wait for the gate to open, and then head to the Narada Falls parking area. All vehicles need a Mt. Rainier park pass (https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/fees.htm) , and also need to carry tire chains.

Olympia branch snowshoe course students have priority until 2/5. If you are with a different branch, or not a snowshoe course student, please wait until 2/5 to sign up.

Trip is subject to weather conditions and the gate opening. We  find an alternate destination out of Longmire if the gate doesn't open. We may reschedule for another date if the weather looks bad.

Covid guidelines and restrictions apply. Please be vaccinated against COVID-19 to go on this trip.

We will take the route up and over Mazama Ridge, avoiding the avalanche terrain on the road.  Trip will be approximately 6 miles with 900 feet of elevation gain.
