Day 1: Trailhead to Tuck Lake

  • Hike to Tuck Lake (~6.5 miles, 3,000’ gain, ~5-7 hours)
    • Set up camp at Tuck Lake. Limited campsites; get there early to secure a good spot.
    • Relax, swim, or explore the shoreline.
    • Cook dinner, enjoy sunset views, and stargaze.
    • Sleep early for an easier climb to Robin Lakes tomorrow.

Day 2: Tuck Lake to Robin Lakes & Exploration

  • Breakfast and pack up a light day pack for the climb to Robin Lakes (~1.5 miles, 1,300’ gain, ~1.5-2 hours).
  • Expect a steep, exposed hike with cairns marking the way.
  • After lunch, descend carefully back to Tuck Lake. Swim, relax, or take an easy stroll around Tuck Lake.
  • Dinner and sunset photography.
  • Share trail stories, stargaze, and enjoy a final night in the wilderness.

Day 3: Return to Trailhead

  • Breakfast, pack up camp, and ensure Leave No Trace principles are followed.
  • Arrive back at the Deception Pass Trailhead.
  • Enjoy a post-trip meal in Cle Elum or Roslyn before heading home.

The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:

  • Tent with footprint/ground tarp
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
