This trip is perfect for B3 students and anyone wishing to experience the backcountry of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness without the hassle of permit system or a lengthy trip. We will camp overnight at Spectacle Lake after 11.5 mi and 1500 ft elevation gain. I am planning to use the PCT detour going in but may save 2.7 mi going out by crossing Lemah Creek instead.

Mosquitoes are reported to be bad before and at Pete Lake so bring bug spray, and bug net or treated clothes if you have them. You will need river shoes if we cross Lemah Creek on the way out. Bears have been sighted so you will need to bring vault or hang your food.
