8/5 Mon,  time TBD, betw 2PM-5PM Pacific Time; required pre-trip orientation at Mt Robson Visitor Centre and check in with leader for pre-flight cargo and excess baggage weights.

8/6 Tues  7:30-7:45AM Pacific Time - Meet at Mt Robson Pit for heli flight /cargo checkin and car shuttles.

Photo-oriented backpack for members only, with  3-5+ day Mountaineers moderate to strenuous backpacking experience.  Minimum 3 persons; 4-5 persons if tent sharing.

Before  contacting trip leader, be sure to review all trip details (leader notes, route/place info, links) to ensure your interests are compatible with trip expectations.

* Leader permission required (use leader permission link) for leader review and approval, prior to registration - include 3-5+ day Mountaineers moderate to strenuous backpacking experience (past 2 years), photography interests,  and why you're interested in the Berg Lake backpack.  Indicate interest in carpooling - drive or ride, willing to drive solo (carpooling space not guaranteed).  Also confirm in your request that you have current passport or WA enhanced driver's license (or WA enhanced ID) valid through trip dates, required for border crossing.

Leisurely to moderate pace group travel, with 20-minute lunch and opportunities for short to extended photo stops.  We'll depart camp each day between 8-8:30am and travel as a group.  If you're looking for a faster paced hike or solo hiking, please consider joining another trip that better matches your expectations.

Berg Lake trail itinerary: Snowbird Pass hike on day 2 or 3, depending on better weather.  Mumm Basin-Hargreaves Lake/Glacier Circuit trail - Mumm Basin access may be affected by 2018 trail damage.

Day 1 AM heli flight near Berg Lake trailhead to Robson Pass then short backpack to Berg Lake camp with day hike to Mumm Basin/Toboggan Falls Circuit 5mi with 1645' gain & loss, OR Mumm Basin-Hargraves Lake/Glacier Circuit 7.2mi, 774' gain & loss; Berg Lake sunset; 

Day 2 AM Berg Lake sunrise  and short backpack to Rearguard camp, followed by day hike to Mumm Basin-Hargraves Lake/Glacier Circuit (half with Toboggan Falls or combined circuit); OR Snowbird Pass 13mi, 2532' gain & loss;.

Day 3 day hike from Rearguard camp to Snowbird Pass 13mi, 2532' gain & loss; or Mumm Basin-Hargreaves Lake/Glacier Circuit (half with Tobaggan Falls or full circuit).

Day 4 backpack from Rearguard camp to Whitehorn camp via Emperor Falls (extended photo stop) 6.3mi, -1694'.

Day 5 backpack from Whitehorn camp to Berg Lake trailhead 6.6mi, -661'.

Day hikes 8/6-8:  Robson Pass, Mumm Basin, Hargreaves Lake/Glacier Circuit, Toboggan Falls (incl with Mumm/Hargreaves half circuit).  

Backcountry camp sites (3) reserved for up to 4 persons, includes 1 shared site (up to 2 sites may be shared, increasing trip capacity to 5):  8/6 Berg Lake (N end), 8/7-8 Rearguard (near N end Berg Lk), 8/9 Whitehorn.   One tent per site.  Closed tents only.   Bearproof food storage (elevated cables or steel cabinets), tables and pit toilets at each campground. 

Reserved accommodations are recommended for 1-2 nights prior to August 6 backpack start at Mt Robson Provincial Park.  Front country camp at Mt Robson Provincial Park or motel/B&B near park.  Leader camping 8/2-5 nights prior to and 8/6 night following backpack at Robson Meadows CG; site may be sharing available.

Member trip costs include backcountry camp fees $59 at registration, and at additional cost to each participant the heli flight (approx $211US) to Robson Pass.  Leader will provide details for participants to reserve  heli flight for 8/6.   Heli fee includes cargo allowance 35lb.  Additional fee (due on flight day) for excess baggage.

Cancellation fees for backcountry camp (waived if replacement):  $15 before 7/1; up to $59 after 7/1.

Trail conditions (7/5):  Snowfree.   Due to landslide activity in 2018, Mumm Basin route accessed from Robson Pass campground is only open to posted turn-around point; beyond that, it remains closed until further notice.   Hargreaves Lake Route and Toboggan Falls Route have now been reopened.
