Backcountry Ski/Snowboard - Roaring Ridge (Snoqualmie)

Day trip to explore the Roaring Ridge area. Xmas Tree Bowl or Roaring Ridge East Bowl possible destinations.

  • M1 Intremediate Ski
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,500 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 4,988 ft

We will be ascending mostly via John Wayne trail and logging roads.  Planned descent routes are either Xmas Tree Bowl (39o) or  Roaring Ridge East Bowl (41o).  Mostly looking for some conditioning time going uphill.  Pace is expected to be easy to moderate: if you are looking for something more advanced this is probably not your trip.

Weather forecast does not include any signficant storms.  Bring ski crampons if you have them - will likely have sections of  hard snow.

COVID-19.  Please do not come if you are sick.  I will ask you to self-assess prior to departure.  Plan to bring adequate hygiene and self-care supplies.  Best practice is to NOT carpool with strangers.

Meet Lower Hyak Parking Lot.  Be geared up and ready to go by 7:30am.
