Backcountry Ski/Snowboard - Hex Mountain (winter)

Hex Mountain is a steep but rewarding Cascades winter adventure: you will earn the great 360 degree views from the summit. Low avalanche risk makes this a popular winter destination. On a clear day, you will enjoy views of Mount Rainier, the Teanaways, and other peaks.

  • Pace: Moderate pace around 2 mph

7:00 AM Bellevue Eastgate Park and Ride. Meet beneath the overpass which is on the east side of the large parking lot.

Prerequisites:

  • Skiing/Splitboarding skill level: Intermediate (inbound Blue Square)
  • Prior backcountry skiing experience: completed at least 2 tours involving a minimum of 2,000' of elevation gain\
  • Avalanche training: AIARE level 1 (preferred) or (minimum) avalanche awareness training which included in-the-field simulated rescue training
