Backcountry Ski/Snowboard - Arrowhead Mountain

Moderate paced tour for intermediate sliders to Arrowhead Mountain in the Stevens Pass area. The vertical gain is 3130 feet in 5 miles round trip. The trip should take approximately 7 hours.

Meet at the plowed shoulder pullout spaces just west of the East Portal access roads (east side of Stevens Pass, just pass the nordic center).

Be ready to start the tour at 9:00 am.

Car Pool Location

  • Leave the Brickyard Road Park and Ride lot at 7:00 am
  • 15530 Juanita Woodinville Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011
  • Meet at the north end of the park and ride

Please complete the following sections of the AIARE field book PRIOR to arriving at the trail head: Avalanche Danger, Snowpack Discussion, Weather Forecast and identify FOUR or more locations where observations will be recorded.

Enclosed is a map of the route.  We will return to the trail head by 5:00 pm.

The actual route will depend on snow, avalanche, weather conditions and participants’ abilities. If needed, an alternate, safer destination will be chosen by group consensus.
