This can be a very challenging paddle.  We will start by punching out through the surf zone at Makah Bay and heading north through boomer fields and over kelp beds.  There are no "outs" available on this trip.  You can't walk out.  I've seen trips abort just a few hundred yards short of the cape, as conditions can become more than sporty there (think of "washing machine" clapotis!). The scenery is nothing short of spectacular!  Towering pillars, sea caves, and often whales treat us to what is likely the best day paddle in the western US.  Be sure to read over the required equipment, as this just isn't your ordinary day trip.  Participants must have surf zone, incident management, and open coastal experience prior to this trip.  Leader will interview everyone prior to being accepted.  If weather or surf conditions are outside the limits, we will convert to a paddle out of Neah Bay.
