Participants will practice walking in balance, self belay and the four positions of self arrest using an ice ax. This will be a chance to practice as many snow skills as we can in a controlled environment in a non-glaciated snow field area before going on a field trip to the Easton Glacier recreation area @ Mt. Baker to practice the skills in a realistic environment. That field trip will be June 9-10, and participation in that field trip is contingent upon participating in this skills weekend. Attendance here on this trip will also be required to go on the glacier climbs offered by MAC during the summer.
