Trip Report

Day Hike - Easton Ridge

Very nice early season hike. Snow was almost completely gone and wild flowers were out in abundance.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Only a few snow patches left on the trail which posed no problem at all. I counted 30 trees that had fallen across the trail though. Most were small but a couple 24 inch size and one 30 inch size. We had no problem going over or around the fallen trees.

The road is not marked and narrow. I thought I might be on wrong road but it opened up at parking lot. The turn off from main Kachess Trail is not marked look for cut-off to the right before road like trail starts to ascend. You will parallel the creek for a short way before crossing on a small bridge. The trail ascends fairly quickly with long switchbacks. In less than a mile look for signed trail junction for Easton Ridge to the right. More switchbacks before attaining the top of ridge. The trail starts to go down the ridge and ends without access so we turned around just past the opening at the top with views of Lake Cle Elum, Easton Lake, and Lake Kachess plus mountains beyond.IMG_4001.JPG
