Seattle Branch Oregon PCT Thru Hiker

Badge

Seattle Branch Oregon PCT Thru Hiker

A profile badge awarded for backpacking the entire Oregon portion of the Pacific Crest Trail in a single trip.

About The Award

Backpack the entire Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail between California and Washington in sections to earn the Oregon PCT Section Hiker badge for your profile.

How To Obtain

Backpack the entire Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail between the North Crater Trailhead near the California/Oregon border and The Bridge of the Gods at the Columbia River in a single trip. The trip can be done in either direction (NoBo or SoBo), and zero/nero days are permitted at town stops along the way. The trip can be either supported or unsupported.  It is not necessary to backtrack the 0.1 mile from the North Crater Trailhead connector trail to tag the California/Oregon border (but those who want their claim to stand up to scrutiny at the Pub are advised to do so).

The trip can be private with non-Mountaineers team members.  The trip must be done in accordance with Leave No Trace and in accordance with the policies of all relevant local land management agencies, including the use of valid permits, proper food storage, acceptable resupply practices, etc.

Contact

Contact the Seattle Backpacking Committee chair.  Include the dates of your trip, your start/finish trailhead, and the names of the other people in your party.  If done as a Club trip, also include the leader’s name and branch.
