CHS Tacoma August Hike - Trip will initially open to Tacoma Branch Conditioning Hiking Students. Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers, based on availability, 7-10 days prior to date of the hike.

Trip will initially open to Tacoma Branch Conditioning Hiking Students.  Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers, based on availability, 7-10 days prior to date of the hike.

Join me on a lollipop trip to check off one of The Mountaineers 15 hiking peaks of Mt. Rainier!  This is an exposed hike so sun protection will be very important. We will follow the Sourdough Ridge trail from Sunrise to the 5-way trail intersection where we take the Wonderland Trail to Skyscraper Pass and Skyscraper Mountain. On a clear day the unobstructed view of Mt. Rainier from the peak is breathtaking.  To complete the lollipop, we will descend past Shadow Lake and pickup the Sunrise Rim Trail where there are great views of the Emmons glacier in the valley below.
