FYI....Hot waxing skis can be done from home in a garage, balcony, car port, shed, etc...All you need are a few waxing tools, xc wax bars, iron, access to an electrical outlet, and ventilation.

Description  Skiing on miles of trails through forests, meadows, and up and down hills coupled with the sensations of gliding and skiing efficiently on snow are the biggest enjoyment factors in cross country skiing.  Enhance your xc skiing experience this winter by learning the Whys and How of Hot Waxing your skis to improve your ski bases, glide and speed.

This beginning hot wax class is for you if...

1) You do not hot wax

2) You want a refresher course on the How and Whys of Hot Waxing.

3) You have ever worked extra hard to keep your skate or classic skis gliding on ski trails while other skiers quickly sail past you.

4) You have problems with clumps of snow sticking to the bottom of your skis’ kick zone that slow you down.

5) Your ski bases have not been waxed in the last few years or ever.

In this 2.5 hour Hot Waxing  X-C Classic and Skate Ski Class you will learn:

1) Why we hot wax both our classic and skate skis

2)  How skis and skiers benefit from hot waxed skis

3)  How to set up a Hot Wax Station at home

4)  How to select a wax and hot wax skis

Both skate and classic waxless skis need hot wax. Waxless classic skis NEED wax on both their tips and tails- always. Waxless refers to the classic ski kick zone, but we will also give you a wax tip on how to keep the kick zone free of clumping snow.  You will  learn how to choose the proper hot wax by temperature and how to apply it to the ski glide zone, as well as what equipment and supplies you will need to make your own home waxing station.

The class leaders will give a complete demonstration on hot waxing skis from start to finish, sharing with you what waxing equipment you will need, and answer your questions.

Once a Nordic cross-country skier experiences skiing on recently hot waxed skis with improved glide and speed, the skier NEVER wants to return to the NO hot waxing days.
