This is a meeting to bring together volunteers from all branches and activity types who are interested in putting components of their courses or stand-alone seminars online, or who are interested to create and share new content in an online format.
A Zoom meeting link will be sent to all registrants on the day of the meeting. Please RSVP.
THE OBJECTIVES FOR THE MOUNTAINEERS Virtual LEARNING PROJECT:
- Help our members stay connected
- Help alleviate pressure on courses that have been truncated due to the pandemic by putting a portion of the content online
- Provide learning opportunities for disappointed students whose courses have been canceled or are at risk of canceling
- Provide fun & meaningful opportunities for our instructors to continue teaching what they love
- Reduce & supplement lost revenue to ensure The Mountaineers is around to serve the community for the next 100 years
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS MEETING:
- Course leaders who are currently working on reformatting course content to go online
- Course leaders who have an idea for reformatting course content to go online, but haven't started yet
- Course leaders who would like to explore ways to create virtual/remote learning content for their course, but aren't sure how that would work
- Volunteers who have an idea for creating a virtual stand-alone seminar
- Volunteers who have an idea for a quick tech-tip video that could go online, but don't know where to house it
MEETING OBJECTIVES
- Learn what everyone is working on or interested in working on
- Identify areas of overlap, or opportunities for partnership
- Understand the tools available
- Learn from one another's experiences
- Utilize the group as a resource
- Understand staff and volunteer support resources available
