Gear required specifically for this trip

  • Each person needs a method to secure food and smellables.  Ursack works well. Other options:  bear cans (heavy and bulky), or hanging food from trees.  For this latter option, people need to bring about 50' of line (such as 3 mm paracord), and something to hold their food (such as a stuff sack); it should not be a stuff sack used for other purposes, such as clothes, sleeping bag or tent.
  • Some means of water purification.  I plan to use Aqua Mira drops for myself.  Water filtration device works.
  • Stove, pot, fuel and lighter.  No white gas stoves.
  • Tent, poles and stakes.
  • Map in waterproof bag (gallon Ziploc bag works well) and compass
  • Toilet paper in waterproof bag (quart Ziploc bag works well)
