Seattle MAC - Backcountry Ski Trip - Yodelin

A MAC ski trip! Early requests are showing a preference for backcountry skiing. This is an advanced trip, please see leader's notes.

  • M1 Intremediate Ski
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,800 ft

Plan on an early morning departure. See trip sheet for details when it is released within two weeks of the trip.

Participants registering for this trip, please read the following and respond immediately upon registration using the "request leader's permission".

Leader's permission is required to ensure that you have read all of the information below before registering. To register, send a request to join indicating agreement to the note and answering questions below.

*****NOTE*****

Please only register for 1 outdoor trip per month, at first. If a given trip has open spots remaining in the final week before the date of the trip, anyone may register even if they are already registered for other trips.

This trip will open for all registration 2 weeks before since the week before this trip is a holiday.

1. Please indicate your preference/ability - back country ski or cross country ski.

This is an advanced trip. Please read the requirements carefully before signing up!

Prerequisites: At least 2 years of in-bounds skiing experience and ability to ski black diamond runs (not necessarily in good style) in any conditions. You must be able to get down the hill on your own in any conditions. 

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course completed / badge. 

Avalanche Awareness Seminar (or NIKO course) completed / badge.

Students will either need to have their own AT kit or rent one.

If group decides on cross-country ski, classic style skis are available to borrow from The Mountaineers.
