Meet at Concrete Beach on Lake Washington.   Be geared up and ready to start the clinic at 9.m.  The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

In this clinic, we will explore use of lateral weight shift in Sea Kayak.  Sure, our long, narrow boats go forward with ease but that narrow hull provides little support should you get out of balance to one side or the other.

In this clinic, we'll remedy that with

  • Practice use of lateral weight shift
  • Learn the brace strokes and some techniques to train a brace reflex.
  • Learn draws and sculling strokes to move our boats sideways.

Bring

  • Your long, narrow sea kayak
  • Your paddle
  • A lateral attitude
  • Anything else you need to stay warm, dry, and hydrated for 3 hours outdoors.
