CHS 2 Hike - Tunnel Creek to Surprise Creek

This hike is a one-way traverse, partially on the PCT, with some beautiful alpine scenery! Our route will start at the Tunnel Creek trailhead near Stevens Pass and take us to pretty Hope Lake, up and over Trap Pass with views down to Trap Lake, and then out via the Surprise & Glacier Lakes trail. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph).

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 12.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,100 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,800 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

Let's meet at 7:00AM at The Brickyard Park and Ride in Bothell. I'll provide more specific directions in my hello hiker email.

This will be a "semi-loop" hike with our starting and ending trailheads about 3.5 miles apart off of Highway 2 (just a few miles before Stevens Pass).  We'll of course need to do a little car shuffling at the start and end but that should be easy enough.
