CHS 2 Hike - Mount Si Old Trail

Mount Si via the Old Trail led at a CHS 2 pace. Here's a better way to hike Mt Si! Explore the quieter trails and classic Pacific Northwest forests of Mt Si. It's a steep trudge up old Mt Si trail, and then a more gradual descent down the Mt. Teneriffe, Talus Loop and Douglas Fir trails to return to the Little Si Trailhead.

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,200 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

Meet at Little Si Trailhead at 8:45am. Discover Pass required for parking. Pit toilet available at trailhead.

Get some mid-week conditioning in without an early morning wake-up! This is a challenging hike that is designed to be a little easier on the knees by taking a steeper route up with a more gradual descent. This loop route tries to maximize less trafficked trails on Mt. Si.

We hope to stop at Garlic Crush in Issaquah for a post-hike outdoor meal for those interested (depending on Covid restrictions). We will not be stopping for an extended lunch on the hike, so bring plenty of snacks for the short breaks on the trail.
