This graduation trek is only for the strongest hikers. I designed this route with potential scramble students in mind. If you are interested in taking the scrambling course, come to Gothic Basin with me! The trail to Gothic Basin itself is a bit scrambly, and takes you to Foggy Lake, which is surrounded by iconic scrambling objectives Del Campo and Gothic Peak. To make the day even more challenging we’ll add on Silver Lake. Keep in mind that 8 miles of this trip are an easy road walk, meaning that the significant gain takes place over fewer miles. The payoff is amazing views of the peaks of the Mountain Loop and North Cascades, and gorgeous alpine lakes.
