CHS 1 Hike - Turtleback Mountain Preserve: Turtlehead Summit

We will hike Mt. Constitution on Orcas Island (not Turtleback Mountain). CHS1 hike led at pace 1.5-2.0 mph.

This is a very long day but it is well worth it. Participants will make carpool arrangements from where they live. We will take three vehicles from Anacortes.

We are planning on catching the 7:30am Anacortes Ferry to Orcas Island. We have already made ferry reservations. We should be at the trailhead in Moran State Park on Mountain Lake by about  9:15 am. Drivers will need to bring a Discover Pass. there are additional costs: Participants will pay their own ferry fare and support the cost of the carpool vehicle.

Full details will be emailed to participants early in the week of the hike.

 

We will hike the east side of Mountain Lake to the top of Mt Constitution where will will enjoy lunch and weather permitting amazing views before heading down on Little Summit Trail making a loop back to our starting location.

We are planing to catch the 5:15 ferry back to Anacortes, and will make a dinner stop either in Anacortes or Mount Vernon.
