The route this hike will take is jam packed with a number of sites to see. Columbia Hills is a historic state park that includes a waterfall, streams, rolling hills, (season dependent) wild flowers, a historic ranch, views of the Columbia River Gorge, and if it's clear out Mt. Hood.
We'll stop a number of times during this hike to take in all the possible views. We'll also stop by the Dalles Mountain Ranch since it's got some interesting historic stuff to look at.
After the hike we'll stop at a local restaurant for a bite to eat.
Additional items:
- Treated clothing (e.g. permethrin) and/or insect repellent (e.g. picaridin): This hike is on the East side of the Cascades and is extremely likely to have ticks present. Also take other precautions such as wearing long sleeve clothing etc.
- Sunscreen and/or UPF clothing: There isn't any significant tree cover during the entire hike.
