Course Description:

The Introduction to Leading Bolted Routes Course is a program of instruction designed to equip students with the fundamental technical skills and experience necessary to safely lead climb well-bolted single pitch routes.

  • Belaying/rappelling/cleaning/equipment
  • Clipping techniques
  • Route risk assessment
  • Clipping
  • Face climbing techniques
  • Leading a route

Required Equipment

Course equipment: 

Helmet, Harness, Shoes, Belay device, Quickdraws, Anchor materials, Personal anchors, Chalk (optional), Belay Gloves (optional).  Note: Quickdraws, Anchors and Personal anchors will be discussed at the first class session, and need not be purchased before that.
