9:00 at Travelers' Rest, at the E end of the Snoqualmie Summit area.  We will then convoy to the Hyak  Glacier area.

APRIL 4 - This is a one day trip.  Primary date is April 4 but keep Sunday April 5 open as a bad weather alternative.

Leader's notes

We will cover snow travel, including ice axe use, arrest and glissade, snow anchors and snow belays, cramponing, roped travel, and discussion of effective response to a crevasse fall.

Note that this is only Part 1 of your required SIG snow field trip and we will cover much of what you'll do at FT #4.  Part 2 of our SIG Snow FT will be May 4-5 at Mt St Helens.  In case you're wondering, ours is the only SIG that splits this required activity into two sessions.  We do this in order to do a climb of Mt. St. Helens to satisfy the snow overnight requirement.  St Helens is such a long drive that we would not have time to teach all snow skills we'll cover on April 4.
