CA1 Classroom Day - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

Field trip: Waterfall Canyoning Course

CA1 Classroom Day - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

The classroom day is an introduction to the course, to your fellow classmates, and to the general concepts of waterfall canyoning.

  • Easy

8am, Seattle Program Center Summit Room

On the first day of the course, you'll become familiar with the specialized gear, review the knots and hitches you learned in your pre-work, and create your personal cows tails that are sized to you. You'll review communication techniques specific to a noisy canyon environment, and begin to think about Security Fatal Errors (SFEs) - the category of mistakes that could lead to serious injury or death in a canyon.
