Bikepacking Field Trip - Palouse to Cascades Trail

This is an OPTIONAL training ride and gear check for students in the Fall 2022 Seattle Bikepacking Course. It is NOT an overnight trip but a practice ride for the overnight field trip. Especially reccomended for those with no prior bikepacking experience and limited backcountry camping experience. Read leader's notes!

Meet at the Palouse to Cascades Cedar Falls trailhead at 9:00 AM with all your gear for the overnight and lunch food.  We will pack together in the parking lot. Bring a tarp to spread everyhing out.  Discover Pass required to park. Carpooling encouraged if you are comfortable and it is convenient for you. A final email will be sent to registered participants a few days prior to this trip.

We will ride the Palouse to Cascades Trail from Cedar Falls trailhead near Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend to Alice Creek with full bikepacking gear. Round trip is 25 miles. We will stop at Alice Creek primitive campsites, set tents, filter water, have lunch (you can bring a warm one to cook, if you'd like the full practice), then reverse the process and ride back to the trailhead.
