March GoHike Pacing Hikes: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Tiger Mountain Lowlands

Enjoy a relaxed and easy hike to Lake Tradition and an abandoned bus. This hike is intended to help you and the GoHike team determine what pace and challenge level you want to start with in the series.

  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)
  • Mileage: 2.26 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 66 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

Meet at 9AM, ready to hike, in the High Point/Tradition Lake Parking Lot. After you get off the freeway, you'll pass about a mile of cars parked along the side of the road. Continue going, past a green metal "gate" until you fine the real parking lot. Look for a silver/blue Honda Civic with the license plate: IMSASSY.  Google map location https://goo.gl/maps/jA6g9BsftXsV2wCo7.

Check your spam/junk folder for the detailed Hello Hikers email from Dori Gillam two days before the hike.

The Mountaineers do not recommend carpooling with people outside your household at this time.

This is a flat and easy walk by a lake, across a bridge, and over to an old, burned-out bus in the forest. Beautiful trees, mosses and lots of buds coming out for spring.

The restrooms were closed on March 21 - I'm not sure they will be open by this hike.

We will follow The Mountaineers phase 2 Covid-19 protocols and every participant will be asked to agree to the Covid-19 Code of Conduct in order to register.
