Meet at 10:30AM by the restroom in Orting Central Park.  Google map location https://goo.gl/maps/qkRvTb19sgEgR4EMA.

Carpooling with anyone outside your household is not recommended at this time due to the risk of Covid-19.

From the meeting place in Orting Central Park, we will hike southeast on a portion of the Foothills Trail that will take us to a newly developed picnic site on the shore of the Carbon River.  The paved trail is on the railbed of a former rail line that carried coal from the nearby mines to the Seattle port.  If the weather is clear, we will have a magnificent view of Mt. Rainier on the early part of the hike.  There is a portapotty near the lunch spot.  We return by the same route.
