8:00am at the Yodelin parking lot east of Stevens Pass ski area. Here is the parking lot as shown by Google Maps.
Our planned route is the wonderfully named Welldigger's Ass, just east of Stevens Pass. Here is some information about it:
- About 4 miles round-trip with 1,700 feet of gain
- We expect to complete the tour and be back at the parking lot by 1:00pm

Driving directions
To get there, take US 2 to Stevens Pass ski area. Continue another 1.5 miles past the main ski area to an overflow parking lot on the right. (This was formerly the parking lot for the now defunct Yodelin ski area.) The route begins behind the lodge building. GPS coordinates: 47.7725, -121.0741
Preparation
Prepare your equipment for a complete day tour with avalanche essentials, water, food, layers, etc. Consider bringing a lunch you can eat on the go.
