Everett Mountaineers Sea Kayak Baker Lake Shindig

EMSK Baker Lake Shindig July 7-9, 2023

Join the Everett Sea Kayak community for a fun weekend at Horseshoe Cove Campground at Baker Lake.  Family and friends are invited.  We visit, hike, ride bikes, walk dogs, paddle, read, sleep, and other stuff. Weather permitting there will be a 9+ nautical mile paddle up to Swift Creek and back on Saturday.  There’s also a group potluck on Saturday night (7/8/23).  Hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and condiments will be provided so bring a side dish and/or dessert to share and your own beverages.

This is an event we start promoting to the EMSK membership every fall.  Individual EMSK members typically reserve north loop with campsites #6 through #20. Many folks share their campsites. Reservations for individual campsites can be made six months in advance and reservations for these campsites pretty much sell out in January. Per the reservation website: “On January 7, 2023 at 07:00 am PST, availability will be released beginning July 7, 2023.”  It’s always possible sites will open up closer to the date but its best to get your reservation early. Check it out at:

Make your own reservations.  Please let Doug Palm know which site you reserve (doug.palm@icloud.com) or let him know if you need a place to pitch a tent. He keeps track of who and what is going on.  We typically end up sharing some campsites.  Not required but it allows a space for people with tents or last minute participants.  Doug can be reached at 425-949-2933 also.

Can’t find a campsite? Plan to come up early on Saturday and stay through the evening potluck.  Launch time for the Swift Creek paddle is 10am.
