Day Hike - Mount Jupiter

Long ridge hike up a well-known peak in the eastern Olympics with grand views of the Olympics, Hood Canal and Puget Sound!

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 14.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,600 ft

8:00am Brinnon, WA exact location TBD

UPDATE: Day of hike is now on Sat. May 16

A long ridge hike up to a well-known mostly snow-free peak at the eastern edge of the Olympics that can be seen from Seattle. Great views of Hood Canal and Puget Sound to the east and the Olympics in the other direction. Guidebook says 3600 ft. gain but does not account for all ups and downs of ridge which may add at least 1000 feet more of total gain.

This is a long hike with great views and it is a pricey ferry commute from the east shore of the Sound, so the hike will be cancelled if weather is bad.
